I stayed here for 4 nights across my week long trip throughout Egypt and gladly transformed a last minute booking into a what felt like a second home in Egypt.First off - the staff are absolutely amazing. Yousef, Helmy, and Mauka are sweet, caring, and so helpful and I can happily call them friends by the end of my stay (and already miss them <3). While I was traveling back and forth through the country, they let me keep my bags at the property and were always happy to give me recommendations or just chat! I've never met such a wonderfully friendly group of men anywhere I've stayed. The rooms themselves are well maintained, nicely decorated, and incredibly spacious. It's on the 5th floor of a building - similar to many other hotels in downtown Cairo so don't be dismayed when you first walk through the lobby. The rooms are gorgeous and a steal for the price. The breakfast was also delicious, very filling, ans incredibly prompt based on the time scheduled. The tours scheduled through the hotel were also the best ones I took during my stay in Egypt. They're well curated and hosted by kind, knowledgable guides with particularly strong English. I'd really recommend booking through the hotel vs. searching on other sites.Lastly, the location is perfect. You're an easy walk to major sites like the National Museum, well located to buses and transit, in an area near many cafes and shops and easy part of town to commute between neighborhoods.Could not recommend this place enough! Can't wait to come back to Cairo one day soon and stay again.
- great and helping people working there- the rooms and halls look amazing!- the place is clean, shower works great- nice Egyptian breakfast- good bed- great location so close to the center
This was our first visit to Cairo. An enormous, sprawling, bustling urban jungle. If you have never been here before, the city might overwhelm you. This is where the people of El Otel truly shine. Situated in a back alley, first impressions don’t quite stick the landing. But when you reach the fifth floor of the building, you’ll find rooms that match the pictures to a tee. Staff that will help you with whatever you might need. Arrived way too early and need a quick power-nap? Safe keeping and storage of your luggage when you explore the dense metropolis? A guide and translator to help you find that one particular electronics charger you left at home? Or just some small talk about your all-time favourite movies? The staff here got you covered. To summarise: If this is the first time you visit Cairo, an enormous bustling urban jungle that tries to sweep you away and overwhelm you at every street corner, the people of El Otel are the friendly face you never knew you needed, but will cherish during your entire stay here. We highly recommend this venue.
The staff ! The best of Cairo and Egypt :Mauka , Mme Douaa, hilmi , yosef and MISS Madonna .Thanks for all.
Big love from Loulou and her familly to the staff, Hilmi and Mauka were so Nice to us since our early arrival , they helped us alot and were so freindly and helpfulThe emplacement is in downtown cairo so close to everything
As cliché as it might sound, this hotel is like a home away from home (or perhaps even a little slice of oasis in bustling Cairo). Not only are the rooms perfectly equipped and beautifully decorated, but the receptionists are also incredibly kind and accommodating, making my stay truly enjoyable and unforgettable. With plenty of shops and a metro stop nearby, the location couldn't be better, and I always felt safe wandering the neighborhood even after dark. Trust me, treat yourself and book a stay here!
The staff was kind and had nice smile (^^) also the cleaning woman was cute! The room was clean and Breakfast ( Egyptian breakfast) was so delicious (^o^)Great location. And when we go out early in the morning. the staff waited for us and gave us some snacks and drink. It was very happy (^^)
The Hotel is a nice Boutique Hotel. If you in front of the house, you not expect such kind of property, where the interior were selected with love and a kind sense of good taste for culture. Very friendly staff.
We liked how the room decorated in a pink mood and we did a very cool birthday for my sister. The hotel also very clean and homey
Staff were young, smart, active, friendly, and so helpful. Especially, Mauka and Helmy are great. The housekeeper were nice and helpful. The building was old but well renovated. Toilet and shower room was shared but it was always clean and well maintained.
